Douglas Education Center administers a variety of assistance programs to help students finance their education when their own family’Äôs resources are inadequate for this purpose. It is a fundamental principle of financial aid, however, that the student’Äôs first resource must be his/her own earning capacity, followed by income and assets of his/her immediate family.
To enable the financial aid officer to make a proper judgment as to the amount and kind of assistance for which the student is eligible, a student must submit all necessary documentation which will indicate the amounts and sources of income received. Generally, the year for which the documentation is needed is the prior year.
Due to filing deadlines and processing time, Douglas encourages applying at least four (4) weeks in advance of the enrollment date. Applications for federal and state aid programs are available in the Financial Aid Office (Room 100) or by contacting the Director of Financial Aid at (724) 684-DOUG.
